MPES is a Manx owned and operated company that specialises in examination based teaching and training for professionals working within the accountancy and other professional fields.

Eddy Kewin - BA (Hons), FCCA, FCIM, FCMI - MPES Director & Tutor


Eddy is the Founder of MPES and our Chairman.  He primarily teaches Management Accounting, Financial Management and Tax.  Eddy is also heavily involved in the development of our new "online" product - International Professional Academy

He has been on the Isle of Man for over 25 years, returning to his family’s roots after graduating with an Accounting & Finance degree and started his teaching career in 2000 with BPP, before setting up MPES.

Eddy became the youngest President of the ACCA District Society and keeps a keen interest in the local and international organisations, having represented the UK on the ACCA’s International Assembly.

Having several years’ industry experience allows Eddy to address real business problems in the classroom. His philosophy is that every delegate should gain knowledge that can be applied in the work place on a regular basis.

Peter Brumby – FCCA - MPES Non-Executive Director & Tutor

Peter joined the MPES team in 2004.

His professional tuition focuses on the audit based and corporate governance papers.

A former student representative on the island’s ACCA committee, he has a wide range of business experience including retail and financial services. His experience includes exposure to, and involvement with plc and FTSE100 companies in the UK, as well as large multinational organisations outside the UK and Manx based regulators.

Michelle Meakin – CAT, FCCA


Michelle commenced her professional studies with MPES when she was 18 years old, with the CAT qualification.  After obtaining CAT, she then moved on to ACCA and qualified soon after.  She obtained both qualifications in just over 4 years.

Michelle has been lecturing at MPES for 8 years and predominantely delivers Financial and Management Accounting courses.  As she is only young, Michelle is able to directly  relate to her students and give them the guidance, support and the technical skills they require to pass their exams, first time.

Michelle’s work ethic and technical knowledge is second to none and her student feedback and their amazing exam results, confirm what an excellent tutor she is!

Richard Poole - BSc (Hons), FCCA


Richard is one of our visiting ICAEW Tutors.

Richard has worked for various companies including Kaplan Financial and BPP in the UK.  He also has examination experience with ACCA where he marked the ACCA F7 paper for several years (and in more recent times the ACCA P7 paper too).

Richard has taught all Tax and FR type papers for ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA and AAT from foundation level through to the advanced level. He qualified ACCA in 2004, whilst working for Tenon (Formally BDO) in the East Midlands, and then went on to work for PwC East Midlands and Gatwick.

Richard left accountancy practice in 2005 to start a career in lecturing. He worked for Kaplan for 8 years, running the Milton Keynes and East Midlands divisions, had a year in industry with Johnson Diversey (Part of Unilever) and then established his own company which focuses on training and other client and consultancy work.

Monika Zoradova - FCCA, CTA, ADIT


Monika delivers our Tax courses.

Monika qualified as a chartered certified accountant with MPES in 2012. She carried on with her studies and in 2016 she qualified as a chartered tax adviser. Furthermore in 2017 she completed the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation, a specialist advanced qualification in international and cross-border taxation.

She is also a panel member of the ACCA Isle of Man Network Group.

Monika has gained over 7 years experience in both domestic and international tax with a Big 4 accounting firm before taking on her current role in 2017 as Head of Tax of a listed real estate investment company, where she is responsible for overseeing the tax strategy and tax structuring of the whole group operating in multiple jurisdictions.

Sean Freeland - BA (Hons), ACA


Sean graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2013 with a degree in Economics.  Sean then went on to qualify as a chartered accountant in 2018, completing his training locally and in Malta.

Sean works for a local Accountancy firm and has a wide and varied role as a Client Accountant.  In addition to the nuts and bolts elements of his job (bookkeeping and preparing financial statements), Sean has also written articles on Blockchain Technology, assisted his clients with their IT implementation and is heavily involved with the take on and compliance for new clients, as well as the maintenance of existing client relations.

Sean is a keen hiker and diver.  He has a passion for crypto, actively trades bitcoin and other alts, which lead him to develop an automated trading bot, PortalBOT, a trading tool designed to help newbies and experienced traders alike with an interest in crypto to trade successfully and safely without the emotion or the time constraint of monitoring the market.

Sean is also a prolific traveller and has been to Mexico, Columbia, Ecuador, Eastern Europe and Malta, to name but a few places.

Wendy Hughes - CAT, FCCA


Wendy delivers the management accounts course.
Wendy self studied and gained her CAT qualification in September 2005. 

Wendy then moved on to her ACCA studies with MPES, whilst simultaneously working full time in accounting roles in the Finance and Tourism sectors on the Isle of Man, and completed her final ACCA exams in 2008.  After qualification Wendy was promoted to senior accountant and then subsequently progressed into management roles. 

Wendy has benefited significantly from the additional knowledge, and practical experience, gained from working whilst studying.
In 2014 Wendy became a mum to twins and reduced her working hours to part time.  Wendy thoroughly enjoys juggling the many joys motherhood has to offer with her busy professional life.  Wendy also balances her schedule with a healthy lifestyle including plenty of long walks with her family, including their beagle.

Sean O'Leary - BSc (Hons), ACMA


Sean is one of our visiting ICAEW Tutors.

Sean is a St Andrews maths graduate and began his career in fund management in the city in 1985. He began his teaching career with BPP in 2000, and since then has taught and written material for a variety of teaching organisation both in the UK and overseas, specialising in strategic level papers.

Additionally, he has been a marker, moderator and examiner for a number of accountancy institutes in the UK for over fifteen years.

A keen Rochdale AFC fan, he is no stranger to despair, and is always willing to discuss the restorative powers of a hot meat and potato pie in a wet north facing stand in January.

Sheila Banks - MICA


Sheila delivers our AML/CFT courses.

Sheila is an experienced Compliance professional with a demonstrated history of over 35 years working in the legal and financial service industries in the UK and the Isle of Man. Skilled in Management, Corporate Governance, Leadership and Risk Management. Sheila is a Member of the International Compliance Association and the Alliance of Isle of Man Compliance Professionals.


Keith Salmon - Int.Dip(GRC) ICA


Keith delivers our Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) courses.

With over 20 years’ experience in managing conduct risk for a major bank in the International Wealth arena, Keith has a breadth and depth of knowledge in the provision of risk and compliance services across a number of highly regulated jurisdictions, including the Isle of Man, Jersey, Dubai, South Africa, Gibraltar, the USA and the UK. Keith is also a highly skilled technical trainer in the provision of financial advice and has great experience in the delivery of internal audit/ monitoring and managing regulatory thematic reviews.

Gill Leece - MCIPD


Gill delivers our Management Training courses.

A Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Gill has over twenty years experience designing and delivering training programmes in the finance sector.

An experienced manager and a qualified trainer, Gill has worked accross a number of offshore jurisdictions, delivering a wide range of training, specialising in managerment, sales and service.

She is also an experienced risk manager and holds the ICA Specialist Certificate in Conduct Risk.  Gill enjoys using her experience in management and training to help managers and teams - as well as delivering training programmes, she also coaches and mentors managers to help them develop their skills in the workplace.

Ben Kewin - Trainee Tutor


Ben is now an ACCA Affiliate and has completed his CFAB qualification too.  Ben studied at MPES and qualified as a chartered certified accountant (ACCA).  

Ben now starts his journey to become one of the MPES Tutors and in-house student mentor and follow in Eddy's footsteps.

Our Admin Support Team

Will Kewin - BSc (Hons), ACCA - MPES Director


Will deals with all aspects of the day-to-day operation of MPES.

Will works closely with Eddy and Sarah, to ensure the smooth running of the Company, so that we continue to provide the highest quality of client service to all of our stakeholders.

Will studied at Liverpool University, gaining a degree in Mathematics & Finance and later, at MPES and qualified as a chartered certified accountant (ACCA).

Leanne Sharman - Office Manager


Leanne is our Office Manager and deals with every aspect of our administration support, involving the welfare of students, HRs, tutors and any other interested parties (e.g. inital enquiries, course booking, ordering of course materials, exam bookings, any issues etc).  Leanne will also ensure that student's homework and mock exams are looked after, passed on to the tutors and marked.  If you ever have a question or query to do with a course / course materials or exams - Leanne is your first port of call.

Together with Ben, Leanne provides support to Will to ensure that everything runs smoothly and MPES continues to provide excellent student support and customer service.

Julia Karran - Office Cleaner


Julia assists the admin team with the smooth running and upkeep of the office. Julia is heavily involved with Project 21 here on the Island and enjoys keeping up to date with the latest fashion trends and going to the theatre and cinema, with her friends and family.

Honey Kewin - Office Pooch


Honey is our unofficial mascot and the MPES office dog.

This 9.5 year old little lady is very friendly and affectionate.  Honey brings a lot of joy to everyone, as she is always so welcoming.

Did you know - petting a dog is a great stress-reliever too, which is an added benefit for our students, tutors and staff alike!

Honey often spends her day greeting everyone who comes into MPES and sunbathing in the reception area.  



Sarah Kewin – FCCA, MIoD - MPES Director


Sarah mainly deals with MPES' marketing and communications.  She also deals with the new product development and Course Materials with Eddy. 

As well as being responsible for MPES' internal accounting function, she also heads up the MyMPES initiative.

Sarah has over 25 years experience in our local Financial Sector and has fulfilled the majority of roles, within the modern office environment, during her career.  Sarah studied at MPES and qualified as a chartered certified accountant (ACCA).
