MPES is a Manx owned and operated company that specialises in examination based teaching and training for professionals working within the accountancy and other professional fields.

Our Teaching Team

 

Eddy Kewin - BA (Hons), FCCA, FCIM, FCMI - MPES Director & Tutor

 

Eddy is the Founder of MPES and our Chairman.  He primarily teaches Management Accounting, Financial Management and Tax.  Eddy is also heavily involved in the development of our new "online" product - International Professional Academy

He has been on the Isle of Man for over 25 years, returning to his family’s roots after graduating with an Accounting & Finance degree and started his teaching career in 2000 with BPP, before setting up MPES.

Eddy became the youngest President of the ACCA District Society and keeps a keen interest in the local and international organisations, having represented the UK on the ACCA’s International Assembly.

Having several years’ industry experience allows Eddy to address real business problems in the classroom. His philosophy is that every delegate should gain knowledge that can be applied in the work place on a regular basis.

Eddy loves live music and frequently watches gigs locally and further afield. 

Michelle Meakin – CAT, FCCA

 

Michelle commenced her professional studies with MPES when she was 18 years old, with the CAT qualification.  After obtaining CAT, she then moved on to ACCA and qualified soon after.  She obtained both qualifications in just over 4 years.

Michelle has been lecturing at MPES, since 2013 and predominantely delivers Financial and Management Accounting courses.  As she is only young, Michelle is able to directly  relate to her students and give them the guidance, support and the technical skills they require to pass their exams, first time.

Michelle is a keen cyclist and regularly partakes in cycle events.

Michelle’s work ethic and technical knowledge is second to none and her student feedback and their amazing exam results, confirm what an excellent tutor she is!

Sean Freeland - BA (Hons), ACA

 

Sean became an ICAEW chartered accountant in 2018, training with a Big-Four firm.  With a diverse background in audit and client accounting across multiple jurisdictions, he offers a comprehensive and balanced perspective in his teaching.  He's particularly passionate about business strategy, technology and audit papers.

A fervent advocate for Web 3, Sean integrates the latest tech trends to provide cutting-edge resources.  His bilingual skills, honed from years in Latin America, are invaluable when guiding students for whom English isn't their first language.

Sean's approach to teaching mirrors the ethos of excellence and innovation.  He harnesses technology and interactive methods to create an engaging learning environment, ensuring students not only succeed but also build lasting trust.  Known for his approachable nature, Sean's commitment to his students is unwavering.

When not in the classroom, Sean is an outdoor enthusiast and an avid gamer.

Raj Nandha - BA (Hons), CA, CertEd, FHEA

 

Raj is a well-regarded Tax Manager with over 15 years of experience working in the Isle of Man within professional practice and the financial services industry. His career began within the audit and tax departments of large firms in London where he obtained his Chartered Accountancy qualification.
 
Raj is a qualified teacher and a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has in-depth experience of lecturing, preparing assessments, marking, moderating and dealing with the examining bodies across a variety of courses and levels, from A-Level (BTEC Level 3) to post-graduate / professional (Level 7). 
 
Raj has recently established himself as a freelance lecturer and is offering his expertise and services to MPES to lecture in the area of Taxation. We are pleased to have Raj onboard and believe he will bring additional experience and knowledge for our students to successfully complete their exams.

Martha-Paige Megson - BSc (Hons), ACCA

 

Martha-Paige is the newest member of the MPES Team.  She has recently qualified with ACCA and is now taking the qualification further into lecturing and education.

Martha-Paige has worked in taxation, audit and most recently in a CSP, covering a broad range of accounting disciplines. 
 
Martha-Paige has privately tutored (for upwards of six years) all ages, from as young as 7 years old, up to A-Level.  She has a passion and drive for education, allowing her to ensure that her students get the best tuition and results possible. 
 
She is looking forward to starting a new adventure with MPES as a lecturer.

Sean O'Leary - BSc (Hons), ACMA

 

Sean is one of our visiting ICAEW Tutors.

Sean is a St Andrews maths graduate and began his career in fund management in the city in 1985. He began his teaching career with BPP in 2000, and since then has taught and written material for a variety of teaching organisation both in the UK and overseas, specialising in strategic level papers.

Additionally, he has been a marker, moderator and examiner for a number of accountancy institutes in the UK for over fifteen years.

A keen Rochdale AFC fan, he is no stranger to despair, and is always willing to discuss the restorative powers of a hot meat and potato pie in a wet north facing stand in January.

Keith Salmon - Int.Dip(GRC) ICA

 

Keith delivers our Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) courses.

With over 20 years’ experience in managing conduct risk for a major bank in the International Wealth arena, Keith has a breadth and depth of knowledge in the provision of risk and compliance services across a number of highly regulated jurisdictions, including the Isle of Man, Jersey, Dubai, South Africa, Gibraltar, the USA and the UK. Keith is also a highly skilled technical trainer in the provision of financial advice and has great experience in the delivery of internal audit/ monitoring and managing regulatory thematic reviews.

Nicola Quayle - MCIPD

 

Nicola delivers our Line Manager Training courses.

Nicola has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

She has held various senior positions, managing major HR functions for large businesses, encompassing multiple sectors and across many international locations.

Nicola currently works alongside Business Owners, Managers and Entrepreneurs to provide confidential, independent advice and guidance in all things people related.  She shares her expert knowledge of the legal aspects and best practice HR through training and workshops (both online and in person).

 

 

 


Our Admin Support Team

Will Kewin - BSc (Hons), ACCA - MPES Finance Director


Will is our Finance Director.

His role is very wide ranging and deals with anything of a financial nature (invoices / payments / bookkeeping & accounts / creditor & debtor control).

Will studied at Liverpool University, gaining a degree in Mathematics & Finance and later, at MPES and qualified as a chartered certified accountant (ACCA).

Will is a keen swimmer / paddleboarder and enjoys live music.

Nicky Beattie - Office Manager
 

Nicky is our Office Manager and responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations and smooth running of MPES.

She guides and supports the MPES Admin Support Team and liaises with students and clients alike, to ensure that all parties have a pleasant experience, during their time here at MPES.

Nicky has over 35 years experience in out local Financial Sector and has held various Office Manager roles, during her career.

Nicky is a doting gradma and is very involved with her family and grandchildren.

 

Tom Cregeen - BA (Hons) - MPES Admin Support Team

 

Tom works alongside Will, Sarah, Nicky and Julia in the MPES Admin Support Team.

Tom has had a variety of admin jobs, since leaving full-time Education and is exceptionally IT proficient.

As well as attending to the Students & Tutors needs, Tom heads up all of the exams here at MPES, so if you ever have any issues or queries in this regard, Tom is generally your first port of call.

Tom has a degree in History & Heritage and is a self professed "history buff".  You can often find him with a head in a book, reasearching times gone by and looking at heraldry.

Julia Karran - Office Cleaner

 

Julia assists the admin team with the smooth running and upkeep of the office. Julia is heavily involved with Project 21 here on the Island and enjoys keeping up to date with the latest fashion trends and going to the theatre and cinema, with her friends and family.

Little Koby is in the MPES office most days, always happy to meet and greet students and visitors :)

 

 

 

Sarah Kewin – FCCA, MIoD - MPES Director

 

Sarah mainly deals with MPES' marketing and communications and helps out with student / client liaison with the MPES Admin Team.  She also deals with new business enquiries and new product development and Course Materials with Eddy.
 
Sarah has over 25 years experience in our local Financial Sector and has fulfilled the majority of roles, within the modern office environment, during her career.  Sarah studied at MPES and qualified as a chartered certified accountant (ACCA).

Sarah enjoys walking and can be found up a hill, on a beach or generally just "out and about" with Eddy & Koby.
