The Teaching Team

Eddy Kewin - FCCA, TEP, BA (Hons):

Eddy has been on the Isle of Man for more than 20 years, returning to his family’s roots after graduating with an Accounting & Finance degree. After qualifying as a Certified Accountant, he specialised in the trust and company arena before joining BPP in 2000.

Eddy became the youngest President of the ACCA District Society and keeps a keen interest in the local and international organisations, having represented the UK on the ACCA’s International Assembly.

Having several years’ industry experience allows Eddy to address real business problems in the classroom. His philosophy is that every delegate should gain knowledge that can be applied in the work place on a regular basis.

Eddy’s driving motivation is to ensure the Isle of Man maintains its premier division status and to help drive the Island forward with a well trained and motivated work force.

Alan Lewin - FCA, BSc Econ:

Alan is a lecturer and consultant specialising in compliance, anti-money laundering and corporate governance. With over 20 years teaching experience, his client list includes specialist training organisations such as BPP and Kaplan, as well as the training department of accountancy practices including a big 4 firm.

He provides other training services including an Internet based business simulation and bespoke system development.

Alan lives in Leicester, but is a keen supporter of business services provided on the Island.

Peter Brumby – FCCA:

Peter joined the MPES staff in 2004.

His professional tuition focuses on the ACCA's audit based papers and ICSA's corporate governance papers.

A former student representative on the island's ACCA committee, he has a wide accounting experience of retail and financial services. His experience includes exposure to, and involvement with, plc and FTSE100 companies in the UK, as well as large multinational organisations outside the UK.

He continues to carry out an accounting function in the real world as a consultant for the Isle of Man Insurance and Pensions Authority

Peter feels that his working knowledge makes a big difference when teaching these subjects, as it provides students with a practical insight to the subjects - a sentiment which is borne out by his students’ success rates.

Ken qualified as a Certified Accountant and Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation some 30 years ago (with outstanding results).

Ken has a vast depth of work experience in both industry and lecturing and has held several key lecturer positions with Sandwell College, Reed Business School, and FTC, before branching out into freelance teaching.
